We have small group Bible studies for children, youth and adults of all ages. Each class seeks to cultivate an environment where relationships can be enjoyed as God's Word is studied and lived out together.
If you are visiting Westside and would like to try out a Bible study class, you can browse through our Sunday School pages under the "Small Groups" link. The Deacon who welcomes you at the main entrance on Sunday mornings before Sunday School would also be more than glad to assist you.
We desire for our morning services to be more than just a "church service." We strive to make it a worship service. We know that life is tough and people need what only can be obtained in a meaningful encounter with God and His people.
So, each service is prepared with that in mind. We sing, we pray, we enjoy each other's company, we worship the Lord and we make adjustments as His Word is proclaimed. All for the purpose of getting us "fit for here and Heaven."
We strive to strike a balance. We don't want to be bound by a clock while worshipping our God but we also realize that we live in a very time conscious society. On average, our worship services last about 1 hour 15 minutes.
During the worship service (as well as during the Sunday School hour), there is a nursery and classes for children of all ages. During the worship service, a nursery is provided for children (cradle to pre-school). Children from Kindergarten - 5th Grade get to attend the adult worship service and are dismissed to e-worship (elementary worship) by the pastor immediately before the sermon. Parents can pick their children up at the conclusion of the service in the E-worship room adjacent to our church gym.
Westside is a church that loves music! Part of our music program is our choir. They are always ready to welcome newcomers into the choir who will prepare with them on Sunday afternoons and then help them lead the congregation in worship on Sunday mornings.
This is an incredible ministry for children in 2nd - 5th Grade. Children will learn to memorize, understand and apply many passages of the Bible. There are rewards along the way and an AWANA Awards Night to keep them motivated.
The evening worship is much more informal than the morning service. During this time, the Pastor leads in a Bible study and those in attendance are free to comment or ask questions during the lesson.
Our reguarly monthly business meetings take place (typically) on the fourth Sunday of each month. They are run efficiently enabling us to take care of business matters promptly while not taking away too much time from Bible study and worship.
